one-to-one
All dogs are individuals, with their quirks, personalities, fears and woes; just like us folk! If there’s more than one way to skin a cat then there’s certainly more than one way to teach a dog! Bespoke, personalised sessions are the best way to gain insight into fulfilling your dog’s needs so you both can live together happily.
Those Facebook forums, YouTube videos, and other dog owner’s advice can only get you so far and doesn’t compare to bespoke training specifically for you, your life and your dog.

Just like dogs themselves there’s no issue too big or small for us to work on with you.
Training Services Offered:
For puppies up to the age of 6 months
There’s nothing in this world cuter than a chubby little puppy. BUT, they are also hard work! It’s okay to feel frustrated or at your wit’s end with a pup that is being naughty, no matter what you’ve tried. We’re just humans, and there’s a lot of rules in the human world for pups to learn.

Tailored for you and your puppy exactly to target anything you want to work on. We can help you get to grips with:

-
Confidence
-
Recall
-

Bespoke for you and your dog. Some dogs develop new woes over time, or came pre-packaged with woes. Best to nip things in the bud before they have a chance to grow into a bad habit. If they’ve already got bad habits and you’ve tried everything, we got you! We can help with any issues common or un-common.

In one-to-one sessions we’ll do the following:
-
Detailed background information- to understand why your dog is behaving this way
-
Games, exercises and techniques to work with your dog based on their needs
-
Work with common problems such as:
-
Lead pulling
-
Recall
-
Jumping up
-
Excessive barking
-
Resource guarding
-
Separation anxiety
-
Property damaging
-and anything else your dog can throw at you!
Old dogs certainly can learn new tricks

For dogs over 6 months
Reactive/nervous dogs

Is your dog scared of people or other dogs? Do they hate people and other dogs? Do they just generally have a lot of feelings when it comes to others and they can’t keep calm around these triggers?

In stooge sessions we’ll have a stooge dog, person, bicycle, whatever it may be, and work at a safe distance in a controlled environment to help guide you and your dog towards calm in the presence of their triggers.

We work at your dog’s pace, and not push them beyond what they’re comfortable with, making positive associations to the object of their trigger.
Barking and lunging doesn't have to be the way
Video Call training sessions

Not everyone is able to get out and about with their dogs as easily. Are you outside the West Lothian/Scotland area and would still like training? Perhaps meeting people isn’t the best thing for you or your dog. We offer online training sessions via video call.

We teach you how to train your dog. We provide you with all the skills and knowledge you need to tackle your dog's problems. The old cliché "Give a Man a Fish, and You Feed Him for a Day. Teach a Man To Fish, and You Feed Him for a Lifetime" applies here. You will leave the session with knowing how you can improve you and your dog's behaviours and relationship for the weeks, months and years to come.
By the end of our sessions you will know exactly what commitment is needed to ensure you have all the tools you need to help your dog.

Availability
Sessions are available Monday-Friday afternoons. Evenings are only sometimes available, but may be conducted over video call. Daylight is usually best to train.
Your dog’s safety is our top concern
We’ll not bite off more than we can chew. In the event that we deem a bit of extra help is needed to tackle a problem we’ll never take on anything we know we couldn’t handle. In the rare case that this arises we’ll guide you towards targeted expert help or behaviourists.
Training is not one size fits all. Our methods are backed by scientific research and tried-and-true techniques, but if something doesn’t gel with your dog, we’ll always try something else.
You get out what you put in; it can be very hard work, but with patience and consistency you’ll both get to realise the perfect puppy potential.
